Sometimes it’s hard to know where you’re going to get the most bang for your buck when it comes to updating your home when getting ready to sell. Well after doing fairly extensive research in preparation to list my own home I figured I’d share my findings.

  1. Clean & Declutter ($2000)

  2. Kitchen Updates ($500-2000): Backsplash, Countertops, Cabinets, Sink, Etc.

  3. Bathroom Updates ($300-2000): Vanity, Toilet, Tubs & Showers, Tile-work, Etc.

  4. Updated Appliances ($5000-6000): Kitchen Appliances, HVAC, Heating, Etc.

  5. Updated Plumbing & Lighting Fixtures ($1500)

  6. Updated Flooring ($3000-5000)

  7. Lightening & Brightening ($1500): Add Lighting, Brighten via Paint, Brighten through other accents/textiles/furnishings, Etc.

  8. Door Hardware ($300-600)

  9. Curb Appeal ($2500): Landscaping, Touch up Paint, Etc.

  10. Staging ($2200)
